The biggest friction point with most fitness and activity apps is logging. You finish a ride, you have to open the app, tap record, remember to stop it, and then remember to save. Half the time you forget. The data is incomplete. It stops being useful.
PedalPay is built on a different philosophy: zero friction. Here's exactly how it works.
Download PedalPay on Android, create your account, and enable location permissions. That's it. The setup takes less than 3 minutes. There are no Strava integrations to configure, no sensors to pair, no wearable required.
In the app's home screen, you'll see the Auto Ride toggle. Switch it on. From this point, PedalPay runs quietly in the background and automatically detects when you start cycling — using your phone's GPS, accelerometer, and motion patterns to distinguish a bike ride from walking, driving, or taking the train.
No tapping. No starting. No stopping. You get on your bike and cycle. PedalPay detects the ride, tracks every kilometre in real time, logs your distance, calculates your CO₂ savings, and counts your calories. When you stop cycling, the ride ends automatically and your credits are added within seconds.
Open the app any time to see your today's stats: km ridden, kcal burned, kg of CO₂ saved, and credits earned. Your weekly streak builds automatically as you ride on consecutive days. Challenges trigger based on your riding patterns — no manual entry required.
Credits accumulate and can be redeemed at any PedalPay partner venue in Berlin. Browse the rewards section of the app, choose an offer, and present it in-store. No printing, no voucher codes to remember — it all lives in the app.
PedalPay is designed to minimise battery impact. Location is only actively tracked during detected cycling trips. Between rides, the app is essentially dormant. Your location data is used solely for ride tracking and is never sold or shared with third parties.
