Founding Member Status: What It Means and Why It Matters

We've been deliberately limited about founding member spots. 500 total. No exceptions. Once they're gone, they're gone permanently. Here's why that number matters, and what founding members actually get.

Why 500?

500 is not a marketing number. It's the number of riders we can properly support in our closed beta while maintaining the quality of the experience — the tracking accuracy, the partner integrations, the support responsiveness. Beyond 500, beta quality degrades. So we capped it.

It also means founding member status is genuinely scarce. We're not going to quietly expand it to 2,000 after 6 months and pretend it's the same thing. 500 is 500.

What founding members get

First: priority access. When we open new beta slots or launch in a new city, founding members are first in the queue — automatically, without needing to re-apply.

Second: credit carry-over. Every credit earned in beta transfers to your account at full launch. Most apps wipe beta credits. We don't. If you earn 500 credits in beta, you launch with 500 credits.

Third: permanent founding status. Your account is permanently marked as a founding member. As we build out the partner programme, founding members will have access to partner offers before they're open to standard users.

Fourth: a direct line to the product. We want founding members to shape PedalPay. You'll have a dedicated channel to provide feedback, request features, and talk directly to the team. This is not a support ticket system — it's an actual conversation.

What founding members don't get

We're not promising free rides forever, infinite credits, or equity in the company. Founding membership is about recognition, priority, and permanence — not unlimited free stuff. We think that's a more honest offer.

How to become a founding member

Join the waitlist at pedalpay.app. Once you're in and your spot is confirmed, you're a founding member. There's no upgrade path, no premium tier to buy your way in. It's first come, first served.

There are 500 spots. As of today, over 20 are taken. The rest are going fast.
